The test bench is designed to measure the resistance forces of hydraulic vibration dampers for rolling stock of railway transport. It is an automated information-measuring and control system whose main task is to test and diagnose vibration dampers with piston telescopic dampers of single and double action, which develop resistance forces in the course of compression and tension.

The bench conducts tests using the harmonic vibration method with recording of the force-displacement diagram. Tests performed on this bench are carried out in accordance with the requirements of instruction CL-0061 "Instruction for operation and repair of hydraulic vibration dampers for passenger car bogies".

The control cabinet contains electrical equipment that ensures the uninterrupted operation of all stand systems, an industrial PC with a 17-inch touch screen, a control and diagnostic unit, and a control panel.

The executive module is connected to the control cabinet by detachable cables.

    The stand of the SIRIUS - 3000 model allows testing vibration dampers at an angle from 0 to 90 degrees, which is a prerequisite for high-quality diagnostics of various types of dampers.

    The equipment is equipped with an eccentric crank mechanism driven by a gear motor. Benches with a similar principle of operation have been in operation for many years in the repair shops of various depots.

    The principle of operation and design of the CIRIUS-3000 model bench allows the use of the existing recommended technology for testing vibration dampers, described in Section 8 of the CL-0061 manual. The operator controls the operation of the bench using a panel computer with a touch screen built into the control panel. The program interface is simple and intuitive, allowing you to work on the bench without lengthy staff training.

    The program that controls the operation of the test bench processes the initial data received from the sensors, performs the necessary calculations, makes the necessary adjustments to the operation of the mechanisms, builds working diagrams, and calculates the performance characteristics of the tested fire extinguisher.

    The cone clamps used in the design of the bench to hold the vibration damper during testing eliminate the possibility of gaps between the bench tooling and the mounting eyelet of the damper. This ensures the mandatory conditions described in the technical process for repairing vibration dampers. Also, the cone tooling allows for quick installation of the vibration damper,

    The adaptation of the stand to different types and sizes of dampers is due to the design of the clamps and the ability to adjust the length of the center distance of the mounting holes of the oscillation damper. No additional equipment or adapters are required to change the type of damper.

    During the test, the test bench collects information on the parameters of the tested propellant and electronically builds an ellipsoidal working diagram in the coordinates "resistance force-piston displacement"

    To simplify the analysis of the schedule, the equipment has a function of automatic calculation and analysis of the test results of oscillation dampers. This function allows even an operator with little experience to accurately determine the condition of the damper and the reasons for the discrepancy, if any.

    The test bench allows testing the extinguisher in wire and valve modes with the construction of an elliptic operating diagram, in valve mode at two different speeds, providing the test and analysis conditions described in Section 8 of the instruction CL-0061 "Instructions for the operation and repair of hydraulic extinguishers of passenger cars.

    Resistance forces are measured both in compression and in rebound, which allows for asymmetry to be taken into account in the analysis, making the diagnosis of the performance of vibration dampers more efficient.

    The presence of a frequency converter in the control cabinet of the test bench allows you to adjust the speed of the slider and provides effective protection of the electrical equipment of the test bench even in conditions of voltage fluctuations.

    The stand has a light indication of the systems' readiness for operation through the use of indicator lamps of different colors on the control panel and control cabinet. This makes it easier to diagnose the state of the equipment.

    The function of auto-testing of the stand systems allows you to significantly reduce equipment downtime if you need to find the causes of the stand shutdown.

    In the "automatic" mode, you can test all of the following (and those with similar characteristics and dimensions) vibration dampers:
    • Vibration damper KVZ-LIYZHT, drawing No. 45.30.045M;
    • Oscillation damper, designation NC1100, manufactured in accordance with TU U 00223214-002-94;
    • Oscillation damper, drawing designation No. 4065.33.000;
    • GKG-CP 190 11/11 UHL1 A, manufactured in accordance with TU U 30.2-25536693-004:2012;
    • vibration damper, designation GK TsN 667640.012;
    • oscillation damper of the model range GD T-70/28X190SH (SV.42 1300 000 1109) "Zax";
    • Vibration damper KONI 90-2704 of one-sided action (tensile only);
    • Vibration damper KONI 96V-1991;
    • Vibration damper KONI 02H-1932-011.
    • Another version of the damper (manual parameter setting)

    A distinctive feature of this test bench is the ability to check the smoothness of the stroke along the entire length. The operator analyzes the smoothness graph and determines the position along the stroke length where the extinguisher may malfunction. Then he selects this position along the stroke length for further testing. This technology allows for the most complete diagnostics of the fire extinguisher.
